Most pregnant don't realize they won't look like they did pre-pregancy after they give birth. Sorry, but you will not be able to wear non-maternity clothes when you leave the hospital. Most women look about 5 months pregnant after they give birth. I didn't realize this, but luckily brought some maternity clothes.
Also, if you have not signed up yet to receive free samples for your baby, this is the time! I have listed a few sites to the left that offered great samples. Babycenter.com has a few links for signing up for free subscriptions, formula, coupons, etc. I signed up for free samples from Similac a few months before I gave birth and received two cans a few weeks after I arrived home from the hospital. Similac is also really great at sending $5 off coupons for their formula every month. I am still receiving coupons and I delivered my daughter in September. Even if you are breast feeding it is also a good idea to sign up with Similac. Why? Because they send helpful information regarding the development of your baby such as sleep and feeding patterns.

Labor
So, some new moms-to-be may wonder what giving birth is really like?
I did too. I went to the birthing classes to help prepare for the day I went into labor. I am a person who needs to be organized and prepared ahead of time. So, I thought it would be helpful to attend the class. Did it help? I do think it was worth the time. They give you some pointers on being new parents and it also helps the father-to-be be more prepared for the "big" day.
But I didn't end up using any of the breathing techniques they teach you in the class. Most pregnant women I have spoken with, have not used the breathing techniques. Although, I do know of a few that have used them too. It is about what works for you. It might also be comforting to learn the breathing techniques as way of helping you through labor. If you want use them, you now know what to do.
All I can say is, yes, you will experience some pain but that also depends on if you choose to have something to relieve the pain. In the end, you will won't remember much after a few months and say "it wasn't that bad". It is all worth it...esp. when you see that cute little face. And please whatever you do...don't let every one's labor horror stories get to you. I swear they over exaggerate!
